THE ADOPTED TAX RATE $0.8615

THE CITY OF NATALIA CITY COUNCIL ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE LESS REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE; HAVING A 0.00% PERCENT TAX REVENUE INCREASE FROM PROPERTIES ON THE TAX ROLL IN THE PRECEDING YEAR.

THE ADOPTEDTAX RATE SHALL BE LEVIED AND COLLECTED FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT, AND TO PROVIDE AN INTEREST AND SINKING FUND FOR THE 2016-2017 FISCAL YEAR, ON ALL PROPERTY, REAL, PERSONAL, AND MIXED WITHIN THE CORPORATE CITY LIMITS OF SAID CITY ON JANUARY 1, 2016 SUBJECT TO TAXATION, AT THE FOLLOWING TAX RATES:

TAX RATE:  $0.8869 on each $100 valuation, which is apportioned to specific purposes:

  1. $0.7691 on each $100 valuation for Maintenance & Operations (M&O)
  2. $0.0924 on each $100 valuation for Interest & Sinking Fund (I&S)

TAXES LEVIED SHALL BE DUE BY OCTOBER 1, 2016; AND IF NOT PAID BEFORE FEBRUARY 1, 2017 SHALL IMMEDIATELY BECOME DELIQUENT, AND SUBJECT TO PENALTIES & INTEREST.

 

Last Year's Tax Rate: $0.8869 on each $100 valuation, which is apportioned to specific purposes - M&O is $0.7319 and I&S is $0.1550.

NOTICE OF 2016 TAX YEAR PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX RATE FOR CITY OF NATALIA

A tax rate of $0.8615 per $100 valuation has been proposed for adoption by the governing body of City of Natalia. This rate exceeds the lower of the effective or rollback tax rate, and state law requires that two public hearings be held by the governing body before adopting the proposed tax rate.

PROPOSED TAX RATE $0.8615 per $100

PRECEDING YEAR'S TAX RATE $0.8869 per $100

EFFECTIVE TAX RATE $0.8630 per $100

ROLLBACK TAX RATE $0.8615 per $100

The effective tax rate is the total tax rate needed to raise the same amount of property tax revenue for City of Natalia from the same properties in both the 2015 tax year and the 2016 tax year.

The rollback tax rate is the highest tax rate that City of Natalia may adopt before voters are entitled to petition for an election to limit the rate that may be approved to the rollback rate.
