REQUEST FOR BIDS / PROPOSALS / QUALIFICATIONS
Sealed bids addressed to the City of Natalia, Utility Department, at 2078 State Highway 132 North, will be received until 12:00 p.m. local time on April 11th, 2019, for the City of Natalia for the projects provided below.
Bids will be received for a single Contract. Bids shall be provided on a unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated on the Bid Form. Bids will be opened and read aloud publicly at 1:00 p.m. on April 11th, 2019, at City of Natalia Council Chambers, 2078 State Highway 132 North, Natalia, TX 78059. The bids can be hand delivered at the address above or mailed through UPS or FedEx. The City of Natalia office on State Highway 132 does not accept mail through the U.S. Postal Service. No faxed bids or late bids will be accepted.

PROJECT 1: Gravity Sewer Replacement Ad Notice
The Gravity Sewer Replacement project consists of approximately 1,700 feet of gravity main replacement and six (6) sanitary sewer manhole adjustments in a residential area of the City of Natalia. The 1,700 linear feet of sewer pipe will be inspected first using closed-circuit television (CCTV) technology to identify how and where the sewer pipe will be repaired. The Contractor shall provide a DVD of the televised system along with a sketch and written log for each completed segment of DVD sewer main. Results from the sewer inspection will be used to determine what repairs to make on the sewer mains in this area. Sewer pipe may be replaced in kind or lined, depending on the results of the TV inspection. The six manholes are currently below grade and need to be adjusted to meet existing pavement elevation.
The Wastewater Collection System Improvements project consists of the construction of two (2) force mains and improvements to two (2) existing lift stations as described below:
1) Approximately 300 linear feet of 2-inch force main to be partially drilled under Fort Ewell Creek. Project includes a new manhole for gravity sewer tie-in; a new grinder pump station and valve assembly box; new electric to the pump station; fencing; and, tie-in to existing manhole.
2) Approximately 6,000 linear feet of 6-inch PVC force main along CR 6717 for a new sewer line from the Love’s lift station to the City’s wastewater treatment plant. Project includes a 156 linear foot directional drill under existing roadway; tie-in to existing manhole at treatment plant; tie-in to existing lift station; and, installation of various valves.
3) Improvements and renovations to the Love’s lift station. Project includes replacement of two (2) hydromatic pumps; disconnecting existing discharge piping; and reconnecting the lift station discharge to the proposed Love’s force main.
4) Minor repairs to the Ballfield lift station as described in the Measurement and Payment specification. Location of the lift station is shown in Exhibit 1 at the end of the Contract Documents.
The Water Main Improvements project consists of the installation of approximately 6,000 linear of 6-inch PVC water main and six (6) new fire hydrants in the same general residential area of the City of Natalia. Existing water mains will be abandoned-in-place. This project also includes a new emergency interconnect between the City of Natalia and East Medina County SUD. The interconnect consists of approximately 50-feet of 6-inch pipe and fittings, installation of a new Magmeter and electrical connections to the site.
PROJECT 4: Well Site Improvements Ad Notice
The project consists of video inspection and piping rehabilitation for two water wells located on the same property approximately 3.5 miles northwest of the City of Natalia. The video inspection will be performed on each well individually so that only one well is offline at any given time. The video inspection will consist of taking the wells offline, servicing the pumps, conducting a video inspection of the wells and reinstalling the pumps.
Rehabilitation of the piping includes replacing (4) four altitude valves and (2) two flow meters; and, sandblasting and recoating all existing pipes and fittings.
